The Opening Gates to Hotel End at the County Ground, Northampton (1980s)

Artist Mark Kennedy – I’m born and bred in Northampton and have a huge passion for the town’s history. We have some wonderful buildings, parks and surrounding countryside. I wanted to capture some timeless scenes from the town and county in glorious, nostalgic black and white. My Northampton illustrations are sketched using pencil by hand, and has then been digitally manipulated to come up with the final image.

A black and white art print of the gates to The Hotel End. Home fans would pour out of this exit after a Northampton Town Football Club home fixture at the County Ground. The club moved to Sixfields Stadium in 1994 but many fans still have fond memories of the old ground.
