After surviving a severe brain injury, Mark Kennedy embarked on a journey of running 100 half marathons.

Well what can I say apart from the Author likes cake and will be trying to push it all the way through the book. If you like cake and chocolate you will like this book. On a serious note the book really takes you on a running journey but helps you to get focused on the goals. If you are naturally competitive you need these thoughts shared. This is a gem and I can see it being great for many people to read. Thank you for sharing it.

If you are from Northampton and run, Marks book “Half man, half marathon” is a must! Lots of useful running tips for being the best runner you can be, and a potted history of all the events that we have all participated in locally and nationally over the last 15 or so years. Very easy to read and I would thoroughly recommend it to any runner no matter how talented you are. Now I need to go and dig out my own running stats…….

I loved from the start how this book reminds you to be positive – that whatever the situation – you can find a way forward to your goals. Loved all the running talk too of course 😉

  4. Geordie Ben

A brilliant read . It encapsulates how easy it is to get hooked by the running bug and running is for anyone.

Mark also gives an open and honest account of his journey through running.

As someone who doesn’t run unless there’s an emergency, I found this book to be a fascinating read. An insightful look into the motivation of running and the many benefits this brings both physically and mentally. I particularly enjoyed reading Mark’s personal journey of how running has helped him to recover after his brain injury. Highly recommended.

This is an essential read for anyone thinking of or already taken by running. A compelling and insightful book, managing disappointment and brain injury showing resilience and succeeding ! This is entirely worthy of this remarkable and capable man, well done Mark. Highly recommended.

If like me you’re prone to the occasional grumble, this book will remind you how lucky we all are to be fit and healthy. It may inspire you to give running a go. or maybe just put a smile on your face. Mark sets a great example for how to live a positive life.

This is such an inspiring, positive book, you can’t help but enjoy it even if running isn’t your thing (as it isn’t mine!). It’s a personal journey told through running but Mark also encourages you to think about other aspects of your own life at the end of each chapter.

I bought a second copy for a friend that’s taking part in the London Marathon next year and the tips Mark’s included will no doubt prove invaluable.

I am a runner myself, but find myself recommending this book to anyone for its inspirational anecdotes and tales from the running world. Mark’s writing style makes this an easy and entertaining read; I admire greatly Mark’s honesty into allowing us into his life through this book and find it endlessly inspiring – as are the accounts from other runners. I may only be on 2 half-marathons myself so far, but find myself inspired to try and reach 100 too! Obviously this book will be of most interest for runners, but as I say, there is a message and lesson on positive outlook that is interesting to all.
